Information for patients regarding appointments.

What to Bring

Please assist us by providing the following information at the time of your initial consultation.

  • Your Medicare card – this is important for claiming purposes
  • Your Health fund card – this again is important for your claiming purposes
  • A list of medication you are currently taking – this is very important for treatment planning and if appropriate you may be asked to see one of our consulting Anaesthetists.
  • If you have been given your x-ray please make sure that you bring this with you (this is very important as the surgeon may not be able to see you without this)
  • Your referral letter if the doctor or dentist has not referred you via our website.

Medicare

The cost of your initial consultation is payable on the day of your appointment. This account is claimable from Medicare.

Patients Under 16 Years of Age

IMPORTANT: All patients under the age of 16 years must be accompanied by a parent or guardian at the consultation.

A pre-operative consultation and examination is mandatory for patients undergoing General or IV anaesthesia and Local anaesthetic surgery.

At the time of your consultation all fees will be explained in detail by one of our friendly Patient Liaison Officers.

Consultation

  • Consultation Fees: payable in full on the day. We will submit this to Medicare electronically on your behalf and the Medicare rebate will be returned to your nominated bank account.
  • Pathology Fees: depending on your treatment plan you may receive a separate invoice from a pathology provider. All specimens are sent for examination and evaluation to an accredited pathology laboratory. There will be a fee for this service and can be claimed through Medicare.
  • Surgeon’s Fees: If a local anaesthetic procedure or extraction is required at the time of consultation you will be asked to pay on the day. Planned surgical procedures are confirmed and paid for 2 weeks prior to the surgery date.

FAQs

Some of the common questions we get regarding appointments.

Most clinical conditions require you to attend an appointment to discuss any treatment needs prior to any actual surgery being performed.

If you are suitable for Same Day Surgery, we will contact you to arrange an appointment where a surgical procedure can be performed on the same day as an initial consultation. You will receive a financial estimate for all fees prior to your appointment date.

Every clinical case is different, and part of your initial consultation will be focussed on providing an accurate fee estimate for you to be aware in advance of financial obligations.

Initial consultation fees for most clinical cases start at $195 and this attracts a Medicare rebate.

More complex surgical needs requiring extended consultation may have a higher consultation fee.
