Dr Guru O
Oral Medicine Specialist
Dr Guru O is an oral medicine specialist who completed his specialty training through the University of Western Australia. Prior to his training, Dr Guru completed his Bachelor of Dental Surgery at the University of Adelaide, following which he completed an Master of Science in Medicine in orofacial pain through the University of Sydney. Throughout his career, Dr Guru has worked both in Australia and internationally, completed several dental charity missions as well.
His oral medicine training involved roles at the Oral Health care centre of Western Australia, Sir Charles Gairdner Hospital (SCGH) and Perth Children’s Hospital. At SCGH, he completed rotations in dermatology, rheumatology, immunology, pain medicine, and sleep medicine. He also completed rotations in oral medicine departments interstate,
including the Royal Melbourne Dental Hospital and the Westmead Centre for Oral Health.
Dr Guru has published several journal articles and contributed to numerous book chapters in oral medicine. He has also served as a reviewer for several peer review journals. He has a passion for teaching
and is still active in the oral medicine training program. He enjoys all aspects of Oral Medicine. In his spare time, Dr Guru enjoys spending time with his family and being outdoors.
