Facial Trauma

Facial injuries can result in a significant alteration to your appearance if they are not treated adequately.

If you have suffered a facial fracture, surgery may require jaw wiring and the placement of fixation plates. Carefully placed incisions will be made to allow an accurate realignment of the fracture. In some cases, the bone can be repaired without any external incisions.

As part of the statewide facial trauma service, our surgeons have extensive experience in managing severe injuries to the face. Oral and maxillofacial surgeons have specialist expertise in rehabilitation of the mouth and teeth after severe trauma.
